Our Missionaries & Mission Organizations that we support

World Encompass Partner Missionaries

The families of Grace support missionaries from World Encompass Partners.  These missionaries are Bruce & Lisa Tripplehorn (Brazil and Africa).  They visit us every few years to give us an update of their mission work in those countries.  We appreciate the close connection we have with these families.  God is working in very special ways through their lives as they train nationals to lead the work in each country.

CRU Missionaries (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ)

It is our privilege to support Bill & Kathy Horlacher.
The Horlacher's minister to international students who come to our country for their education.  Bridges International is the name of the ministry.  It is exciting to hear about what God is doing to reach international students with the Gospel message.  These students will be returning to their countries to serve in leadership capacities at the conclusion of their studies.  How much better for the spread of the Gospel to have these students return knowing the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord.  Bill and his staff do their best in discipleship.

Christar Missionaries

Joy Snodgrass is currently working as a receptionist within the office of Christar in Richardson, TX.  She has served 3 short term missions in Japan sharing God's love with the lost and hurting.  It is Joy's desire to return to Yamaguchi, Japan to serve with her Christar family soon.

Gospel to China Missionaries
We support missionaries Phil & Sarah Martin.  They have previously been serving as missionaries in China.  Currently, they are serving with their home church in Palmyra, PA.  The Martins are seeking God's guidance for serving elsewhere as the doors have seemingly closed to China due to COVID-19.  Phil and Sara have asked that we pause their support and bless another ministry with the giving as they have been blessed with a surplus in their missions fund.

Ministries We Support

The families of Grace help to support Camp Joy-El through contributions and use our facilities to hold the Released Time Bible Program for Falling Spring Elementary School.  Students in third through fifth grade meet at our church on Wednesday afternoons from 2:15-3:15 PM during the school year.  This program is run by volunteers from the church and the community.

We also support Pregnancy Ministries (PMI) through contributions and at times serve this ministry through volunteering and giving items for new born babies.

We support Child Evangelism Fellowship's Good News Clubs through financial support and the use of our facility for Falling Spring Elementary School.  Good News Club meets on Thursdays, 1:45-2:45 PM.  The students in these programs are in Kindergarten through Second Grade.  Volunteers come from the community and our church family.

We support NETWork Ministries financially here in Chambersburg, PA.  Besides financial support, we also donate lots of new socks through our Sock Exchange activity in December.

Happy Chinese New Year Yesterday marked the beginning of the Year of the Tiger on the Chinese Lunar calendar. Our friends in China are enjoying time off work, and depending on Covid restrictions, time with family. New Year, commonly called Spring Festival, is full of ancient traditions and very modern hopes. Each family looks for new blessings in the new year, symbolized by placing the word blessing on the front door. (Upside down so all the blessing descends down on the family)

Many Christians have observed the similarities between the traditions of Spring Festival and Passover. As interesting as that is, what strikes me every year is that we can all relate to the desire for blessing. We all feel that there is more joy to be had in this life. From Jacob's pursuit of blessing to the beatitudes, scripture paints a compelling picture of God's blessing. The problem is that God's blessing isn't where fallen humans look for it. This is true of so many in China. They are looking for blessing, but don't know that it starts with being poor in spirit, mourning over sin in the world, and hungering for righteousness. Blessing is found in Jesus Christ, and He is also found by those who seek Him.

This week if you see something about Chinese New Year or watch the Olympics in Beijing, say a prayer for Vine Church. Pray through the beatitudes for them. Our hope is that many will be blessed through their witness. God has already answered that prayer many times, and we are confident that He will again.
